NRA Training Basic Pistol Course

Your first steps to safely and effectively using a handgun. This is the perfect course to lead into an Arkansas Concealed Carry License.

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This is an instructor-led course where you will receive direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. A hands-on practical portion will be conducted in a classroom setting and on a shooting range with an NRA certified handgun instructor.

Course topics include:

  • Firearms Safety
  • Proper Operation of Revolvers and Semi-Automatic Pistols
  • Ammunition Knowledge and Selection
  • Pistol Selection and Storage
  • Shooting Fundamentals
  • Pistol Inspection and Maintenance
  • Marksmanship
  • Shooting Range Safety

Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor.

  • Bring your handgun and 50 rounds of ammunition or you may rent one of ours with ammunition provided with an additional add-on.
  • Bring your eye and ear protection or they can be provided as an additional add-on.
  • Wear range/weather appropriate clothing (high neck shirt, closed-toe shoes).
  • Bring snacks/drinks/lunch if needed. We will have a short break in between the classroom portion and the range portion.

Terms & Conditions
Training Classes are non-refundable but may be rescheduled up to 48 hours prior to the scheduled class date. Attendees under 18-years-old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for range activities.
