Ladies Only- Introduction to Handguns

***** THIS IS A TRUE BEGINNER'S CLASS! *****

Ladies, we are going to take it to the next level in this class. We will start in the classroom for a review of safety procedures and walk through each step using our training tools. Then we’ll head out to the range where you’ll receive a safety briefing, a verbal review, and a demonstration. We’ll start with .22 handguns, then advance to 9mm. You’ll do everything under the close supervision of well trained female firearms instructors.

Remember: all handguns, ammunition, eye protection, and electronic hearing protection will be provided.

AMMUNITION INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THIS COURSE!
This course includes sufficient ammunition (.22LR, .380;. 9mm, .40, & .45 calibers ONLY) to complete the required course of fire.

This course is for the responsibly armed citizen. The class provides the basic knowledge you need to obtain the Arkansas Standard Concealed Carry license. It covers areas of the law relevant to carrying a concealed firearm, responsible use of force, avoiding victimization, and decision making skills.

Arkansas Stand Your Ground Law
Situational awareness and personal safety
Criminal law and civil liability
Concealed carry law and reciprocity with other states
Handgun fundamentals
Safe firearm handling and firearm safety rules
Proper shooting technique
Case law
Escalation and use of force
Basic defensive shooting skills

We will review the information covered in Step 1- Introduction to Handguns, including:

• Firearms Safety Rules

• Parts of a Handgun

• Basic Firearm and Range Terminology

• Loading and Unloading/Clearing a Handgun

• Fundamentals of Shooting

We will practice the concepts introduced in Step 1 with simulation tools in the classroom.

Then we'll practice loading real magazines and discuss range rules before heading out to the range where you'll shoot a Glock 44 (.22LR) under the close supervision of highly trained instructors.

This class will last approximately 3 hours.

We will be spending time on the range so make sure to wear range appropriate clothing. It might be muddy.

Ladies, this is it!  Time to bring together everything you have learned and practiced in the previous three steps.

The Defensive Handgun Course is designed to expose students to the most efficient method of defending themselves with a handgun during a dynamic critical incident.

​

In this class we will introduce you to more advanced skills such as presentation from a holster, moving and shooting, cognitive drills, and defensive marksmanship.
